How to create a project?

A project is something that aims to achieve an objective through several stages. It is a series of tasks to be carried out. The term “project” is used to indicate that it is a complex and long-term activity, with a completion point. Let's discover together how to create and manage your projects with Djaboo.

Create a project #

To create a new project, navigate to Projects in the left menu and click Create a project on the top left button.

  • Project name – The name of the project – Visible to the client
  • Select customer
  • Billing type – there are 3 billing types for projects. (self-selected from the most used billing type)

 The billing type cannot be changed if billed tasks are found for the project.

  • Fixed costs
  • Project Hours – Based on total project billable hours
  • Task Hours – Based on total task billable hours – Total is calculated per task Hourly rate (When creating a task, you must set an hourly rate for these tasks if they are billable.
  • Select project members – Only project members and staff with permission to manage projects will be able to access the project.
  • Start date
  • End date
  • Project description

Project settings

Each project can have its own settings depending on the client.

  • Allow client to view tasks
  • Allow customer to comment on project tasks – Not applied if Allow customer to view tasks is not not checked .
  • Allow Customer to View Task Comments – Not applied if Allow Customer to View Tasks is not checked .
  • Allow client to view task attachments – Not applied if Allow client to view task attachments is not not checked .
  • Allow Customer to View Task Checklist Items – Not applied if Allow Customer to View Tasks is not not checked .
  • Allow client to upload attachments on tasks – Not applied if Allow client to view tasks is not not checked .
  • Allow the client to view the task's total recorded time
  • Allow customer to view financial overview –   (the finance overview for tasks is not shown if the project billing type is Fixed Cost)
  • Allow client to upload files
  • Allow client to open chats
  • Allow customer to view milestones
  • Allow customer to view Gantt
  • Allow customer to view timesheets
  • Allow client to view activity log
  • Allow customer to see team members

Notes:

  • During the initial creation of a new project, the default project settings will be carried over from the last project . You can adjust if changes are needed.
  • The project currency will be your base currency or the client currency . If the customer has configured a currency different from the base currency, the currency will be used from the customer's profile.
  • If your staff members are able to see all projects, make sure the member does not have permissions for VIEW projects. VIEW allows staff members to view ALL projects. If you want them to see only the projects assigned to them (added as members), don't give them VIEW permissions.
