There are two types of wedding photography contract:

the contract with an independent professional photographer and the contract with a professional photographer affiliated with a wedding photography company. The contract with a freelance professional photographer is a written agreement between the client and the photographer which sets out the rights and responsibilities of both parties. The contract with a professional photographer affiliated with a wedding photography company is a written agreement between the company and the photographer that sets out the rights and responsibilities of both parties.

What should a wedding photography contract contain?

• Basic information of both parties: Add the basic information of both parties to the contract such as name, address, contact number, etc.

The photographer must include:

• Their name

• Their corporate name

• Work address

• Email Address

• Phone number (mobile and office if you have both)

The client must include:

• The name of the bride

• The groom's name

• E-mail address and telephone numbers of the bride and groom

• Email address and phone numbers of anyone involved in the wedding that they think you might need to be in contact with

• Working hours : You must mention working hours and a suitable working schedule as well as the date and day of shooting in your contract.

• Payment details: the contract should include payment details for the wedding photography as well as any additional labor charges or deductions for late work, etc.

• Payment terms : You have just specified the terms and conditions of payment, including the method and deadline for payment.

• Agreed deliverables: Your wedding photography contract should include what the client is paying for and what they can expect to receive in return. It should clarify details such as, are prints included? What about a digital copy of the images? etc

• Delivery dates: You must mention the delivery dates of the work.

• Image rights for both parties: It is very important to decide in the contract who will retain ownership of the images.

• Cancellation and Refund Policy: It should be clarified that in case of cancellation of the contract, what amount will be charged and who has the right to cancel the contract without being charged. Also talk about the refund policy in case of accident or incomplete work etc.

The contract must include payment details for the trip, including travel-related expenses, food, and accommodation.
